There are a large number of pack manufacturers out there today.  IME's focus is to help you narrow down the top choices.

For mountaineering, we carry the lightest and most bombproof packs that have the features you should be looking for.  From ice tool tubes and crampon attachments to gear loops and adjustable straps, each pack is designed for your needs.     
                     
We have also found that most climbers cannot climb effectively with more than 30 lbs on their back, so you won't need a big frame pack that might weight 7 or 8 lbs.   If  the load is going to exceed 40 lbs. its time to step up to a frame pack with suspension.  When looking for a frame pack it is extremely important to try all the major brands because they will all fit differently.
 
With ski packs, a snug fit to your back is essential but people are also looking for the specialty features that are offered.  A shovel pouch, easy on-and-off ski and snowboard attachments, axe loops, or a floating top lid to extend the carrying capacity are all options found on our various packs.

We also carry numerous accessories such as raincovers, added capacity pockets and Hydro-cell kits.
